How to Farm Hay in Search For The Needle

Hay is the only early currency in Search For The Needle. If you cannot farm it, you cannot buy speed, capacity, or bombs, and you will never get a clean look at the needle. Farming is not hunting. If you are scanning for silver while your pack is empty, you are doing two jobs badly. Fill, sell, buy, then hunt using how to find the needle.

The sell loop

1. Stand on a thick face of the pile that is not a mosh pit.
2. Grab until the backpack is full. Do not leave at 70% unless you are about to die of boredom — incomplete trips tax you.
3. Walk to the sell pad. Confirm cash increased.
4. Buy the next S-tier row if you can afford it. Sitting on coins is a tax.
5. Return to a different patch of hay so you are not fighting twenty people for the same pixels.

Where to stand

The front of the pile near spawn is convenient and terrible. It is stripped, crowded, and full of people who also just arrived. Walk the long way. Edges and the back face usually still have volume. If the whole mound is a crater, the server is late — hop using server tips.

Do not farm inside someone else’s bomb hole unless you are transitioning into a search. Craters are for looking, not for income.

AFK farming is a trap

Anti-AFK scripts and idle clicking feel smart until the server kicks you, a patch breaks the prompt, or you come back to a pile that already paid out. If you still want automation, read scripts and the risk note. A banned account has r = 0.

A short break is better than a ghost character blocking a lane. The needle does not spawn faster because you left a client running.

When to stop farming

Stop when:

• Grab speed and capacity are online.
• You can buy bombs without emptying the wallet.
• Another sell trip would delay a search you are actually ready for.
